You are probably paying a lot more for your cable and your internet than you normally should. If you are someone who’s paying more than $90 each month, then you should know that there are a lot of new cable companies out there that are looking to offer you a much better and reasonable deal than what you are already paying for.
The cable companies are aware of this and they would prefer keeping you in the dark. If it has been a while since you have taken a look at the latest cable offers out there, then there is a possibility that you are missing out on great savings and discounts, even from your very own cable provider.
Most cable companies don’t want to show their current customers an offer with discounts. Hence it is important to compare and shop around.
Since the past couple of years, the competition has drastically increased and these cable providers are always offering deals and special discounts, including decreased rates for a faster internet speed plus a lot more channels in order to win your business.
If you have subscribed to a certain cable company for a while now, even then you should compare prices with what other cable companies have to offer. You need to make sure that you aren’t overpaying for these services.
The Cable Companies Aren’t Expecting You To Compare Their Prices With Other Companies
You have probably been paying for your cable and your Internet bill for several months, or even years, without paying attention to the increase in prices and the sneaky added fees that comes with your monthly bill. These companies charge you for everything, whether its equipment fees, local network fees, including the so-called free channels they give you that aren’t really free and you’re probably paying for those as well. Because of all of these hidden fees, customers end up paying much more than what they were originally offered1.
However, you don’t have to be the victim in all this and you certainly don’t have to pay these high prices of cable TV, as long as you are willing to shop around and compare prices. Internet and cable companies are always willing to offer you a deal; you just need to demand to pay less2.
A lot of the cable companies are always offering discounts, special deals, and affordable packages3. Many of these are marketed as introductory offers for any new customers. However, if you are willing to do the extra research and are aware of these affordable rates, then a lot of these companies will offer them to their current customers as well.
For example, COX offering cable for as little as $25/month ($5/week). AT&T and DirectTV for $39.99/month, Spectrum offers for $44.99/month, and Xfinity for $49.99/month4.
What you need to do is actually look for these lower prices and rates. The best deals don’t always show up on television commercials or direct mail ads. There are times when you are required to search online, talk to different companies, and think about less common options.
In fact, there are a lot of other smaller companies out there that are willing to offer much better deals since they have to compete with the larger well-known internet companies. Among the hundreds of available offers, only a few might provide great discounts at certain times. Yet, these offers are out there and customers can take advantage of these offers to significantly reduce their cable and internet bills.
What To Look For
Every area consists of their own local internet and cable companies; hence it’s worth doing a little bit of research. If you want to save then you need to be aware of whatever these companies are offering, whether it’s seasonal offers, special deals, or limited-time rates. Talk to the other people in your area and see what they are paying for their cable. By doing this, you would know exactly how low the cable providers are willing to go on their prices. Hence, you can also demand for that same deal.
